Intervention at Liverpool Street Station

BA Architecture project: Liverpool Street Station intervention
Fourth year (part time) architecture project to design an intervention at Liverpool Street Station which changes the nature of the local system. The ‘Bike Beam’ creates direct access for cyclists from cycle route to cycle parking inside the station on a raised area alongside the platforms – removing the need to negotiate stairs, crowds and barriers and making use of currently inaccessible space above the platforms. Lit cycle paths extend the  beam beyond the perimeter of the station affecting system boundaries, permeability, transactions, rules and signifiers.
